New business from Universal Pictures

Universal Pictures has briefed us to work exclusively to develop pan-European Promotions for The Lorax, the new animated movie to be released in March 2012, based on the book by Dr Seuss. This is the first project to come from our joint venture in LA with A2 Group.

Roger Alexander joins Board of The Communications Agency

Roger Alexander, the former Chairman of Lewis Silkin, has joined The Communications Agency as a Non-Executive Director. His role will be to help Executive Chairman Robert Prevezer and CEO Adam Leigh develop and grow the Agency.

Roger Alexander is probably the most renowned and respected lawyer in the world of Advertising. He has worked with leading agencies from infancy, including AMV BBDO, DLKW, Mother, St Luke’s, as well as working with most of the major networks.

Campaign’s 2010 A List, described him as “the UK’s pre-eminent advertising lawyer. A mixture of charm and tenacity, he has a wealth of knowledge about the sector. Small wonder that it’s always been the trickiest cases that have always commanded his attention and that he should remain heavily involved in deal-making and representing high powered industry executives.”

Roger retired as Chairman at Lewis Silkin at the end of June 2010. He is non-executive Chairman of Walker Books, and a non exec for Central School of Speech & Drama.

The Communications Agency was founded in 1986 by its Executive Chairman Robert Prevezer and its principal clients include RBS/NatWest, Warner Bros, American Express, Argos, Fiat, The Economist and William Grant. The Communications Agency has been appointed by First Drinks to develop and implement new Digital and CRM activity for the The Balvenie Single Malt Whisky, after a competitive pitch.

TCA will initially be tasked with driving registration and loyalty to Warehouse 24, the brand’s global member’s area, using digital and offline communications.

The Balvenie is one of the world’s leading single malt whiskies. It is distilled by William Grant & Sons and is distributed by its wholly owned subsidiary First Drinks. The Communications Agency appoints Derek Morgans, Head of Digital

The award winning integrated agency, The Communications Agency, has appointed Derek Morgans to the role of Head of Digital.

Morgans joins TCA from Manning Gottlieb OMD, where he was a Digital Director. Prior to this he worked at Carat Digital UK. He has worked on a broad range of clients including John Lewis, Waitrose, Skype, Disney and Diageo.
