James Champ : Planning Director
James’s experience as an account planner spans more than fifteen years, both above and below the line. He joined his first advertising agency, Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters, in 1994, moving on to Partners BDDH and finally Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.
In 2002 he saw which way the integrated wind was blowing and moved to Craik Jones, and later Iris, working on integrated pieces of business in a variety of sectors including financial services, automotive, charity, technology, retail and fmcg. James’s practical experience encompasses TV, print, digital, social media, direct response, sales promotion, retail, experiential and CRM. Over the years he has contributed to projects that have picked up awards as diverse as a D&AD Yellow Pencil, the DMA Grand Prix, APG Creative Planning, Precision Marketing and the Regional Press Advertising Awards.
James also tries to find the time to tinker with bicycles, play the harmonica, cook, read about Roman history and spend some time with his family for light relief.
